Portwell Launches New Fuda2 Touch Panel PC Series With Wide Operating Temperature And Panel Mount Support Based on Intel® Atom® Processor E3800 Product Family
Wide Operating Temperature Panel PC Available for Resistive Single-Touch Screen or Projective Capacitive Multi-Touch Screen Powered by Intel® Atom® Bay Trail Quad-Core Processor
Portwell, Inc., a world-leading innovator for Industrial PC (IPC) and embedded computing solutions, and an associate member of the Intel® Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions Alliance, announces the launch of FUDA2 Touch Panel PC Series, a new energy-efficient and powerful fanless Panel PC with resistive single-touch screen or projective capacitive multi-touch screen. Powered by Intel® Atom® Bay Trail-I SoC quad-core processor E3845 (10W Max TDP, 2M Cache, 1.91 GHz) integrating Intel® Gen 7 3D graphics engine, FUDA2 Touch Panel PC Series provides wide operating temperature support, high I/O connectivity and achieves up to 3x the peak performance and 5x the power efficiency of the previous generation.
“The fanless design ensures silent operation, improved reliability and reduced maintenance costs,” says Yaling Sun, Portwell’s product manager. “Equipped with a responsive touch screen and an industrial panel display available in 10.4″, 12.1″, 15″, 17″ and 19″, FUDA2 Touch Panel PC Series comes with an IP65 rated front panel, and is housed in an aluminum bezel with anodizing coating. This allows FUDA2 Touch Panel PC Series to operate reliably in harsh environments,” Sun adds. In addition, FUDA2 Panel PC features all required interfaces for industrial application: 1 x DVI-I, 2 x Gigabit Ethernet, 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0 and it can be expandable to include 2 x RS-232/422/485, 2 x USB 2.0 or 2 x RS-232/422/485, 1 x RS-232 or 1 x RS-232/422/485, 2 x USB 2.0, 1 x Line-out via selectable I/O kit options. Moreover, it allows 1 x 2.5″ SATA HDD/SSD, 1 x Compact Flash and 1 x SD card for storage capacity and one SMA antenna interface provides optional Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G/4G function via a half-size mini PCIe socket. Also, one PCIe x4 slot and internal 2W speaker are reserved for project use.
Only the best components go into the system and board design in Portwell’s FUDA2 Touch Panel PC Series. By taking advantage of Intel® Atom® E3800 family, which features extended temperature support, FUDA2 Panel PC can be operated under extremely hot and cold conditions. Compared to most Panel PCs in the market, the operating temperature of FUDA2 Panel PC can range from -25°C or up to 70°C in spite of its fanless design. The cableless structure also optimizes the thermal dissipation as well as ensures durability and reliability in harsh environments.
Additionally, the Portwell FUDA2 Panel PC supports 12~24V (±20%) wide range DC input for various operating environments. It offers panel mounting and is equipped with standard 75mm x 75 mm and 100mm x 100mm VESA mounting holes. It supports many mainstream operating systems, such as Microsoft® Windows® 10, Windows® 8.1, Windows® 7 and Linux®.
“With its refined appearance, rugged mechanical chassis and multiple modular flexibility, FUDA2 Touch Panel PC Series application-oriented design and rigid laboratory testing provides customers with an ideal HMI solution for factory automation, CNC machine, and the food and beverage industry,” affirms Sun.
