PET (Portwell Engineering Toolkits) is a comprehensive software development tool provided by Portwell, offering a standard software API interface for customers. It supports all Portwell boards and systems, covering major operating systems such as Windows and Linux, providing customers with complete software development tools. Over the past twenty years, PET has assisted in the system integration of countless projects and has been highly praised by partners.
With the proliferation of the internet and the increasing demand from customers for remote system access, Portwell has upgraded its widely supported and compatible PET API to launch the new RPET (Remote Portwell Engineering Toolkits).
RPET’s remote management features are extensive, offering real-time monitoring of BIOS and EC firmware information, including basic parameters like temperature, voltage, and fan speed, as well as special features like buzzers and watchdog timers. Additionally, it supports read and write operations for GPIO, I2C, and SMBus, and provides power reset and shutdown management. RPET also offers comprehensive monitoring of CPU load, memory usage, disk load and space, network load, and supports BIOS and EC updates, ensuring stable and efficient system operation. With built-in web services, customers can easily build remote control or management programs, making remote application development more seamless.
RPET supports all Portwell hardware and major operating systems, helping Portwell customers manage program development and updates more easily without the need for adaptation to different operating systems or hardware versions. Additionally, RPET comes with detailed and clear documentation, including API definitions and parameter descriptions, and provides sample programs to aid understanding.
The remote API suite helps customers easily support new remote RESTful APIs without the need for significant program rewrites. Portwell converts previous APIs into RESTful calls, allowing programs that originally ran locally to have remote access capabilities with minimal modifications. Moreover, the RPET suite includes various sample programs, including console programs in command prompt mode and cross-platform remote access GUI (Graphical User Interface) programs for Windows and Linux, assisting customers in initial functionality verification, monitoring remote hardware health, and performing remote I/O read and write operations.
RPET provides a web-based management example program, including all source code, to help customers complete relevant development work as quickly as possible. Customers can use this management webpage to directly manage all systems within their company or factory in real time, always understanding the health status of each system and the load conditions through various indicators. Additionally, we provide the source code for customers to reference and develop their own applications, or to simply modify our source code to achieve their goals more quickly.
