Portwell and Network Optix Jointly Pioneer
a New AI Future at COMPUTEX 2024
COMPUTEX 2024 targeted “Connecting AI, Creating the Future,” attracting together over 1,500 companies from 36 countries, displaying the latest technological innovations in AI computing, advanced connectivity, future mobility, immersive reality, sustainability, and innovations. Taiwan’s President Lai Ching-te attended the opening ceremony, stating that the government will provide resources such as stable power supply, supercomputers, and talent development to actively promote Taiwan as an AI Smart Island. President Lai emphasized that the revolutionary development of artificial intelligence will bring unprecedented opportunities to Taiwan, positioning it as a global supply chain hub for the AI revolution.
Moreover, this year’s keynote speeches and forums featured the most CEOs and vice presidents to date, including NVIDIA’s founder and CEO Jensen Huang, AMD’s Chairman and CEO Dr. Lisa Su, Qualcomm’s President and CEO Cristiano Amon, Intel’s CEO Pat Gelsinger and MediaTek’s Vice Chairman and CEO Dr. Rick Tsai, who delved into the future trends and deployment strategies of AI, as well as key hardware innovations.
This joint exhibition emphasized AI connectivity, demonstrating intelligent video monitoring applications. Leveraging Network Optix’s Nx EVOS smart cloud platform, which facilitates visual image recognition, the showcase also featured Portwell’s advanced embedded systems. These systems utilize AI technologies from prominent brands such as NVIDIA, Intel, and Hailo. Additionally, the integration of Portwell RPET platformPortwell Engineering Toolkits (PET) allows compatibility across various operating systems and hardware, enhancing the monitoring of system voltage, temperature, and other conditions. This combination yields high-performance and stable intelligent video monitoring solutions suitable for diverse settings including corporate offices, factories, hospitals, malls, stations, and outdoor areas.
Portwell introduced three notable products during the demonstration: PJAI-100-ON, WEBS-21J0-ADL, and WEBS-45J1-H8. PJAI-100-ON is a fanless, compact Edge AI system powered by NVIDIA® Jetson Orin Nano™, designed to operate silently within a broad temperature range and supports advanced connectivity options, ideal for industrial Edge AI applications. WEBS-21J0-ADL, equipped with Intel Atom® X7000E Series SoC, caters to low power needs and high performance, supporting various display and storage configurations, optimized for IoT applications like retail and digital signage. Lastly, WEBS-45J1-H8 features Hailo AI module with up to 96GB DDR5 DRAM and multiple display support, making it suitable for high-demand applications in rugged environments. Together, these technologies showcase the diverse applications of AI technology at the exhibition, highlighting their utility in enhancing video management and monitoring capabilities across various sectors.
This collaboration not only symbolizes a major breakthrough in security detection monitoring applications linked with AI technology but also through the integration of advanced AI technologies and robust system support from both Portwell and Network Optix, it sets the stage for broader applications of smart monitoring systems in the future.
