Portwell and PADE win the IMV Award and join TTA’s Taiwan Startup Team for CES 2025 with smart textile sorting solutions!

Smart Textile Sorting Solution

Portwell’s partner, PADE Co., Ltd., has been honored with the IMV Technology Innovation Award (First Prize), presented by the ESG Technology Innovation Alliance in 2024. Additionally, PADE has been selected as a member of the Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) Taiwan Startup Team for CES 2025, showcasing its excellence in sustainability and innovation. This achievement highlights not only their capabilities in the sustainable development and innovation fields but also underscores the immense potential of environmental recycling technologies for future applications.

With cutting-edge AIoT sorting technology, combined with Portwell’s highly efficient AI edge computing devices, PADE has successfully developed smart textile sorting solutions that significantly enhance the efficiency and precision of used clothing sorting, driving the advancement of the circular economy. PADE’s intelligent textile sorting system is powered by near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRs) technology and a robust AI model trained with tens of thousands of data samples. This system can rapidly and accurately identify a wide variety of complex textile materials, including polyester, cotton, nylon, acrylic, acetate, wool, and polyester-cotton blends. The technology enables high-speed sorting of used textiles on conveyor belts, improving recycling efficiency and promoting the value recovery of discarded garments.

Portwell and PADE have collaborated on three distinct solutions tailored to different application scenarios: portable sorting systems, automated recycling bins, and large-scale sorting equipment. Portwell provides reliable and high-performance computing technology to enable rapid and accurate identification and classification of textile materials. These solutions not only support PADE in accelerating image processing but also advance the digitization and traceability of recycling records. This progress lays the foundation for establishing a complete circular economy history for textile manufacturers and brands. Portwell’s RPET (Remote Monitoring and Management Solution) enhances the operation of sorting systems by providing real-time monitoring, data transmission, health diagnostics, fault warnings, and maintenance recommendations. With RPET, managers can oversee system efficiency, quickly address anomalies, reduce maintenance costs, and minimize downtime risks.

The collaboration between Portwell and PADE focuses not only on technical innovation but also on implementing practical solutions to meet global sustainability goals. PADE’s outstanding achievements mark a milestone in integrating green recycling with smart technology. Portwell remains committed to working closely with PADE to drive smart recycling innovations and create new possibilities for sustainable development.
